Nokia C7 3G Smartphone Announced; Features 8 MP Camera with 720p HD Video Recording

Nokia today announced Nokia C7 Smartphone featuring a large 3.5-inch touchscreen powered by the all new Symbian^3 operating system which brings significant enhancements in speed and ease of use and features an active noise cancellation for clearer voice calls.

The Nokia C7 smartphone is powered by the latest version of the Nokia’s Symbian^3 platform that brings more than 250 new features and improvements and retains the familiarity of its user interface.

The new Nokia C7 Smartphone also offers multiple, personalizable home-screens which can be loaded with apps and built-in widgets. Nokia C7 is quad-band 2G and quad-band 3G HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 2100 /1900 network ready handset that is equipped with a large 3.5-inch 360 x 640 pixel AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 16 million colors featuring Nokia ClearBlack technology for improved outdoor visibility.

The new Nokia C7 smartphone also features Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, an Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, Digital Compass and is build with Scratch-resistant glass surface featuring Touch sensitive controls. The smartphone also features active noise cancellation using a dedicated mic.

Measuring 117.3 x 56.8 x 10.5 mm the Nokia C7 weighs 130 gms and it comes with 8GB internal memory with 256MB RAM and 1GB ROM and unlike recently announced Nokia E7 smartphone which lacks memory card slot, this smartphone does offers microSD memory card slot supporting upto 32GB expandable storage.

For connectivity, the Nokia C7 smartphone offers exhaustive data connectivity options that includes GPRS class 32, EDGE class 32, 3G HSDPA 10.2 Mbps connectivity, 3G HSDPA 10.2Mbps connectivity, HSUPA 2.0 Mbps connectivity, WiFi 802.11b/g/N and Bluetooth v3.0 + A2DP for wireless connectivity in addition to microUSB v2.0 for wired connectivity.

The handset also allows geo-tagging along with face detection and smile detection features and features a VGA resolution secondary camera for video calling.

The Nokia C7 smartphone will also allow free access to Ovi Maps on the handset. With the latest beta release of Ovi Maps, available for download today, users will benefit from new features and even greater map detail. The new Nokia C7 Smartphone would also offers a host of security features including business grade device lock and wipe functionality, secure intranet access and remote device management.


Users will also benefit from free walk and drive navigation via Nokia Ovi Maps including premium guides from the likes of Lonely Planet and Via Michelin.

The new Nokia C7 Smartphone comes with strong 1200 mAh Li-Po battery offering upto 9.5 hours of talk time on 2G network (5 hours on 3G) and 550 hours of stand-by time on 2G network.

Price and Availability
The new Nokia C7 smartphone (along with the Nokia E7 and Nokia C6 smartphones) is expected to begin shipping before the end of the year for $435 / €335 or about Rs. 20,213 and it would comes in choice of Charcoal black, Frosty metal, Mahogany brown colors.
