Nokia today announced Nokia C6-01 Smartphone featuring a large 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen powered by the all new Symbian^3 operating system which brings significant enhancements in speed and ease of use and features best of social networking and mobile entertainment in a stainless steel and glass design.

The Nokia C6-01 smartphone is powered by the latest version of the Nokia’s Symbian^3 platform that brings more than 250 new features and improvements and retains the familiarity of its user interface.

The new Nokia C6-01 Smartphone also offers multiple, personalizable home-screens which can be loaded with apps and built-in widgets. Nokia C6-01 is quad-band 2G and quad-band 3G HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 2100 /1900 network ready handset that is equipped with a large 3.2-inch 360 x 640 pixel AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 16 million colors featuring Nokia ClearBlack technology for improved outdoor visibility

The new Nokia C6-01 smartphone also features Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, an Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, Digital Compass and is build with Scratch-resistant glass surface featuring Touch sensitive controls. The smartphone also features active noise cancellation using a dedicated mic.

Measuring 103.8 x 52.5 x 13.9 mm the Nokia C6-01 weighs 131 gms and it comes with 340MB internal memory with 256MB RAM and unlike recently announced Nokia E7 smartphone which lacks memory card slot, this smartphone does offers microSD memory card slot supporting upto 32GB expandable storage.

For connectivity, the Nokia C6-01 smartphone offers exhaustive data connectivity options that includes GPRS class 32, EDGE class 32, 3G HSDPA 10.2 Mbps connectivity, 3G HSDPA 10.2Mbps connectivity, HSUPA 2.0 Mbps connectivity, WiFi 802.11b/g/N and Bluetooth v3.0 + A2DP for wireless connectivity in addition to microUSB v2.0 for wired connectivity.

Users can even edit the pictures and videos on the phone itself.

The handset also allows geo-tagging along with face detection and smile detection features and features a VGA resolution secondary camera for video calling.

Price and Availability
The new Nokia C6-01 smartphone (along with the Nokia E7 Smartphone and Nokia C7 smartphone) is expected to begin shipping before the end of 2010 for $340 / €260 and it would comes in choice of Silver Grey, Black colors.
