HTC to Launch ‘HTC Desire Z’ Android Smartphone in January 2011 for $580

HTC Desire Z Smartphone would be available in the first week of January 2011 at the estimated price of $580. Already available for pre-order at Flipkart.com portal, the upcoming THC Desire Z smartphone features full QWERTY pop-hinge keyboard, and is powered by Android v2.2 (Froyo) with HTC’s Sense user interface that integrates a variety of multimedia and location-based enhancements and introduces HTCSense.com, a series of new connected HTC services.

Building on the unibody heritage of the HTC Legend, the HTC Desire HD Smartphone is sculpted from a block of solid aluminum into a seamless compact frame and is powered by Android v2.2 (FroYo) upgrdable to Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) mobile operating system and features newly enhanced HTC Sense user interface with exciting new features.

With HTC Locations, a new differentiated online mapping experience, people have instant, on-demand mapping without download delays or incurring mobile roaming charges. The new HTC Sense experience offers a variety of enhancements that improve how people capture, create, share and access multimedia content.

The new HTC Desire Z Smartphone features a unique ‘pop hinge’ that opens to reveal a QWERTY keyboard for fast, convenient typing. Weighing only 180 gms, the HTC Desire Z Smartphone measures 119 x 60.4 x 14.2 mm and includes a 5.0 Megapixel Auto Focus camera with built-in LED flash, Face Detection and Geo-tagging capability offering maximum 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution. The camera also offers 720p HD video recording.

Available in single Black color, the new HTC Desire Z smartphone offers exhaustive data connectivity options including WiFi 802.11b/g/N wireless LAN, GPRS class 10, EDGE class 10 (236.8 kbps), Bluetooth 2.1 + A2DP wireless connection with FTP and OPP file transfer capabilities, 3G HSDPA 7.2Mbps, 3G HSUPA 2Mbps connection and microUSB 2.0 for wired connectivity.

The HTC Desire Z also includes the new HTC Fast Boot that enables people to quickly make a call or check emails by shortening the time taken to complete the power-up sequence. Android v2.1 powered 3G ready HTC Desire Z Smartphone also features stereo FM radio with RDS, MP3 audio player MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA formats, video media player supporting MP4, H.263/H.264 abd WMV9 formats.

Other features of HTC Desire Z Smartphone includes built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support, Digital Compass, Java MIDP 2.0 support, a dedicated key for search application and is Adobe Flash 10.1 ready.
