Research In Motion (RIM) today formerly announced the newest addition to the Blackberry Bold series handset in India, the BlackBerry Bold 9780 Smartphone that features a large 2.4-inch, brand new Blackberry 6 OS and a full QWERTY keyboard along with packing a wide range of communication and multimedia features.

Featuring a premium and iconic design with an incredibly easy-to-use keyboard and revolutionary optical trackpad, the BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone is the first BlackBerry Bold smartphone to come with the new BlackBerry 6 operating system which is now available in India for $600 from leading leading mobile carriers.

The BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone supports 3G networks around the world, includes Wi-Fi 802.11b/g wireless LAN with support for carrier supported Wi-Fi calling (UMA where available) and GPS for location-based applications and geo-tagging.

The smartphone also supports BlackBerry App World which features a catalog of mobile applications.

The Blackberry Bold 9780 smartphone is equipped with all new touch-sensitive trackpad instead of traditional trackball and includes several social networking appls for Facebook, Myspace, and Flickr.
